Non-normalized EMG amplitude

EMG amplitude signal expressed in absolute, non-normalized arbitrary units or raw (milli/micro) Volt (e.g., root mean square [RMS], average rectified value [ARV]).

  • This method does not account for physiological and anatomical differences between muscles/participants. These features will affect the EMG amplitude, which as a result, will impact the extracted synergy.

  • There are no caveats. Simply, it’s not possible to interpret the data.
